Preppy Grunge

A strange combination perhaps, but I do like the expression it makes. The proper, buttoned up armless shirt is a nice contrast to the cut denim shorts and the worn out Vans. Dots and stripes are nice together as well as seperate. It is spring, and time to be more open minded,  perhaps a bit naive, childish and playful - yet again.
Shirt from Nina Jarebrink, belt Miu Miu, jeans made into shorts from Juicy Couture, socks from H&M and shoes from Vans by Marc Jacobs.

City Easter

Being in the city for the first time during easter, it is fantastic to see how things blossoms and changes from day to day. I thought I would come back to snow and wind, but I've luckily only been wearing sandals and shorts!

Bye Lyon

Thank you so much to everybody who made my stay in Lyon unforgettable.
Bisous

Marseille

Marseille is a really cool city. Typical Southern French architecture and culture is mixed together with North African. The city spreads over a huge area, a lot of it is build on the rocks near the sea. It is worn and torn, but I find this a great part of the experience. I wish I could stay there for a week and not only a day. There is so much to explore. My friend Fabiène says it is the perfect place to get lost, and I couldn't agree more.

L'Opera

Nice day but chilly wind made me make my Acne cashmere knit into a scarf.
Very grey on grey action this. Jeans from Dior Homme, t-shirt from Weekday, cardigan and shades from Balenciaga and blazer from Acne.

Sunday Morning

Sunday two weeks ago I woke up at my friends house after a great party. She has a beautiful apartment with fantastic objects and details and the most amazing view. I sat outside in the mild weather listening to the band (fanfare) playing everything from Eurithmics to Daftpunk. And then there was breakfast!

Post Flu

After two days in bed I always feel I want to go out and take on the world. Yesterday I did this looking like a quirky tourist.  By second thought quirky and touristy might just be something. Espeacially when the tourist combines Paul & Joe belt and Matthew Williamson knit with the Acne utility jacket.

Or maybe not ...

Les Amours Imaginaires

Can't wait to see this movie by Xavier Dolan. His first movie, J'ai Tue Ma Mere was fantastic, even though I couldn't understand much of what was said and there were no subtitles.

Solis

Solis is my other favourite store here in Lyon. Not only are the clothes beautiful, but the way they are exposed in the store makes the space genuinely special. Lanvin, Maison Martin Margiela, Dries Van Noten, Balmain and Rick Owens are amongst the brands you can get. They also stock a wide selection from Japanese designers such as Yohji Yamamoto, Issey Miyake and Comme des Garçonnes.

Lycra

First of all, these are shorts I use when I dance, they are not made for cyckling! They also happen to be the only shorts I have brought to Lyon. But I have grown to rather like them. Brings back just enough of the 90s. And they are cool combined with large tanks and sweaters, such as this one from Weekday.

Seventh Tree

This is how I would dress if I lived in the garden. I just love the look of Alison Goldfrapp in these pictures for the Seventh Tree album.

The Garden

I helped my friend to clean the strawberry fields for weeds yesterday. Her family has an enormous garden. I walked around singing Simon and Garfunkel's Scarborough Fair and Goldfrapp's Road to Somewhere, feeling that I wanted to camp there in a big pointy tent wearing nothing but big, flowing clothes.
Today I read something that made me think about the garden. I love how Virginia Wolf turns signs of spring and being in love into a similar context. This is from Mrs. Dalloway: "... But of all this what could the most observant of friends have said except what a gardener says when he opens the conservatory door in the morning and finds a new blossom on his plant: -It has flowered; flowered from vanity, ambition, idealism, passion, loneliness, courage, laziness, the usual seeds, which all muddeled, made him shy, and stammering, made him anxious to improve himself, ..."

A Pop Up Book

I should have written about the exhibition A Pop Up Book a long time ago. It was an exhibition where different Norwegian artists and designers came together to show some of their work. Amongst them were me, Kings of Convenience, T-Michael, Norwegian Rain, Kristoffer Kongshaug, DoubleYou Perfume, Norwegian Rain, Bjørg Jewellery, etc.  Because that I am so late, why not read what Vogue Italia, The Diane Pernet Blog - A Shaded View on Fashion, or Oslo Nights had to write about it.

Here is a little about the choreography I did at the exhibit:
Currently in his second year studying Classical Ballet at Oslo National Academy of The Arts, Jonas loves to explore the unison between the classical dance and other art forms and expressions.
He has just become 23 years old. "The expression in the dance is what makes the dancer" - this is something he always keeps in mind.
Especially inspired by music, litterature and people, "Shadow Journal" is a piece where the dancer is turned into a minimalistic object to be looked upon as just another piece in the exhibition. At the same time the object is alive and pulsating, filled with visable feeling. It is composed by Jonas, using a mixture of set movement patterns and imporvisation.

Lyon Cycle Chic

Probably the chicest bicycle shop on the planet, Lyon Cycle Chic combines great atmosphere, cool and friendly staff, fantastic selection and brands and espressos in the sofa to make the ultimate experience. You can get helmets formed as hats and other cycle-couture. My absolute favourite is this Brompton bicycle. Love the colour and the customized equipment from Brooks. Bromptons are very light and can be folded together. (Where can I get this in Norway?). The red Brompton at the bottom is Fabiène's.

At The Sunday Marked

What I first fell for in this outfit was the cute and very basic shirt with textile buttons. The sailorpants and polkadot platform peeptoes are great as well. There is something tomboy and preppy about the outfit, but the shoes, Repetto pouch and golden locks gives it great contrast.

Yellow Skirt

This skirt is really something. I think it can turn any outfit into something spectacular. The vintage Valentino shades are also great. The girl is from New Zealand by the way - so now you know!
